Biography
Clifford Lewis, Swedish-Welsh tenor born 1994, graduated summer of 2021 with a bachelors degree from Stockholm University of the arts (formerly called Operahögskolan).
Clifford made his professional debut autumn 2017 in the role of Beppe/Arlecchino (Pagliacci) in a production at Estrad Norr (stage director Märit Bärgvall).
In SKHs Graduation production 2021 Clifford sang the role of Rodolfo in Puccinis La Boheme (stage director Stina Ancker and conductor Eric Solén).
Clifford joined The Royal Opera in Stockholm season 21-22 for Josef in Löftet (Larsson Gothe) and Harry in La Fanciulla del West (Puccini).
In the summer of 2022 he performed Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte (Mozart) at Vattnäs Concert Barn and sang Rodolfo in La Bohéme (Puccini) in Dala Floda Opera.
Upcoming performances is the world premiere of Andefabriken (Nelson) in Vadstena and Mr Bingley in Sofia Fredéns/Daniel Nelsons opera Pride and Prejudice at NorrlandsOperan.
Clifford has during his studies portrayed excerpts of the following roles: Rodolfo (La Boheme), Ruggero (La Rondine), Roberto (Le Villi), Fritz Kobus (L’amico Fritz), Alfredo (La Traviata), Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Don José (Carmen), Faust (Faust), Chavalier des Grieux (Manon), and Hoffmann (Les Contes d’Hoffmann).
